Special Activities of each Partner in WP 6

LP: MUC

Lead Partner: city of Munich (D) – Department of Health and Environment

  • MUC will document the activities concerning soil protection.
  • MUC will contribute to the list of criteria to survey and evaluate soil functions.
  • MUC will play a part in designing of a question catalogue to develop the profile of requirements in partner cities.
  • MUC will play a part in compiling a list of requirements.
  • MUC will try to make Local Agenda 21 groups a partner of this WP.

Project partner: Autonomous Province of Bolzano (I) - Agency for Environment Protection and Industrial Safety

EU-P2: FEA

Project partner: Federal Environment Agency Ltd. (A)

  • The FEA will contribute expertise to the development of a scientific funded multilevel questionnaire. Our main concern is the compilation of the demands of the partner communities and the specification of these demands for the planning processes. In this particular context the FEA will discuss the Austrian situation and by this means provide national information for further work packages (WP 5, WP 6).
  • This discussion will be based on the results of the requirements for soil evaluation in the partner communes received by the questionnaire (e.g. related to soil data - soil information systems, precautions and maintenance activities concerning spatial planning, integration in site planning processes, consideration of soil issues in environmental impact assessments, personnel capabilities of soil experts within the municipal administration, participation facilities and other particular activities for soil protection).
  • On the basis of the results of the multilevel survey the FEA offers expertise to working out the specifications of the user requirements for the planning procedures.

EU-P3: IGUI

Project partner: University of Innsbruck (A)

  • IGUI will analyse the status-quo concerning soil protection in spatial planning procedures in some municipalities of the Inn Valley; the municipalities must be different in size, availability of data and know how and must represent the existing spectrum of their area.
  • IGUI will gather the user requirements by a survey based on a first cause analysis and detect the subsequent deficits.
  • In cooperation with the other partners IGUI will detect the final survey and will appraise the results.

EU-P4: LINZ

Project partner: city of Linz (A)

  • Contribution of a compilation and description of the relevant activities and deficits for
  • Acquisition and detection of urban soil data,
  • Specific consideration of urban soil problems in development planning, zoning plans, building schemes, etc.
  • For the development of a questionnaire the City of Linz will bring in its and eventually other communes special aspects, problems, experiences, ideas for improvement or other relevant questions.

EU-P5: RT

Project partner: city of Reutlingen (D)

  • Stock-taking of soil protection activities in Reutlingen
  • In cooperation with LP(MUC) and EU-P6 (HOH) the question catalogue and criteria for the soil evaluation will be elaborated and processed by exchange of experiences and material (maps, data etc.)

EU-P6: UHOH

Project partner: University of Hohenheim (D)

  • UHOH is responsible for coordination of this WP and its smooth implementation.
  • UHOH will develop, carry out and analyse a survey concerning municipal soil protection and land management.
  • UHOH will contribute to the list of criteria to survey and evaluate soil functions.
  • Evaluation of the responses and compiling a multi-grade requirement profile.
  • Compilation of a list of requirements.

EU-P7: UNITO

Project partner: University of Torino (I)

  • UNITO will cooperate with the end-users of the results of the TUSEC (Local municipalities, Environmental Agencies, Interest Groups, Citizens Groups, etc.) to define their needs and requirements in terms Planning instruments that include soil evaluation. It will share the Italian viewpoint with the other partners to elaborate a transnational strategy.

NM-P1: MARIBOR

Project partner: municipality of Maribor (SLO)

  • Stock-taking of soil protection activities in Maribor.
  • Answering to the question catalogue with regard to proceedings.

NM-P2: ZRH

Project partner: city of Zurich (CH)

  • ZRH will define the requirements for soil evaluation based on the mentioned documents concerning ecological, economical, social and legal criteria for evaluation
  • Implementation of the results of WP 3 (resp. compilation a multi-grade requirement profile for soil evaluation).
  • ZRH will compile a list of criteria for ecological, economical, social and legal goals.
  • ZRH will define the requirements in the implementation strategy in Suisse, the City of Zurich.
  • ZRH will consolidate the requirements of the other CH-Cities and cooperate with the Verband Familiengärten Schweiz.
  • ZRH will give survey of the pollution load in the partner cities and will request the requirements in allotment gardens.
